Commemoration of Rosemary Skinner Keller
Deacon of the United Methodist Church, feminist historian, and scholar
Dr. Keller was professor of church history and academic dean at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. She also taught at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois, where she served as the seminary’s first woman dean and vice president of academic affairs. She was an ordained permanent deacon in the United Methodist Church. With feminist theologian Rosemary Radford Ruether, Rosemary Skinner Keller was the editor of In Our Own Voices: Four Centuries of American Women’s Religious Writings and the three-volume Encyclopedia of Women and Religion in North America. Keller died June 5, 2008 of cancer.

Matthew 14:1-12

Luke 1: 68-79
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; *
he has come to his people and set them free.

The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
